Top Higher-ups Work out the Blueprint Together for the Development of Network Technology at the GNTC

"Global Network Technology Conference" (www.theGNTC.com), themed by “new technology·new architecture·new network”, will see a grand opening in the conference center of Beijing Great Wall Hotel during November 28-30, 2017. As one of the largest network technology events in China, more than 2,000 representatives and audience will participate in GNTC. At the Plenary Session on the morning of the first day of the conference, CAE Academician Wu Hequan and Wu Jianping and inductees of the Internet Hall of Fame, Paul Mockapetris and Paul Vixie; NAE Academician and professor at Stanford, Nick McKeown; VP of Operations, the Linux Foundation, Phil Robb, and other authoritative experts in the industry will attend the conference and share their understanding and vision of the development of the new generation network technology.

The development of network technology has ushered in a new era of a huge impact on the economy and society, and many new generation network technologies have begun to be applied on a large scale and are quietly pushing the great changes in the industry. With the increasing number of network users and the rapid expansion of application fields, many problems are also exposed in the existing network architecture, such as the lack of network resilience, difficulties in new business development, outdated infrastructure and network security issues. The network revolution is taking place toward the more software-oriented, cloudized, more function-virtualized and more hardware-generalized development, and a new generation network is rapidly formed which is safer, more efficient and more flexible.

Wu Hequan, Academician of CAE
At the Plenary Session of Global Network Technology Trends in the morning of November 28, Wu Hequan, Academician of CAE and Chairman of Internet Society of China, will deliver a speech first to talk about the development trend of global network technology in the future and discuss the new opportunities and challenges brought by it, as well as the profound impact on the industry. As one of the earliest experts in the research of digital communication technology in China, Academician Wu Hequan once put forward four development trends of communication network technology, namely, “large broadband, large connection, intelligentization and software definition”. At this year’s GNTC, we are looking forward to Academician Wu Hequan’s splendid speech.

Wu Jianping, Academician of CAE, 2017 Internet Hall of Fame
As one of the main initiators and promoters of the next generation Internet in China, the CNGI core network of China’s next generation Internet demonstration project, that is, CERNET2 backbone network, directed by Academician Wu Jianping has been built as the world’s largest pure IPv6 Internet. At the conference, Academician Wu Jianping will introduce the development of next generation Internet and IPv6 in the world and share his unique understanding of the development of network technology, so let’s wait and see!

Paul Mockapetris, the Inventor of DNS, 2012 Internet Hall of Fame
Mr. Paul Mockapetris is one of those first inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in 2012, and he is known as the father of DNS (Domain Name System) and one of the founders of modern Internet, giving a great push to the development of global Internet. At this year’s GNTC, Mr. Paul Mockapetris will share his own unique opinions on future trends of network technology from the perspective of Internet infrastructure upgrades.

Paul Vixie, 2014 Internet Hall of Fame
Paul Vixie, as a senior expert in the field of Internet infrastrcuture, was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in 2014 by the ISOC, and he also designed, researched and developed and deployed the famous DNS open source software, that is, BIND. At the general meeting of the global network technology development trend in the morning of November 28, he will share his understanding and judgment on the development of global network from the perspective of network security.

Phil Robb, VP of Operations, the Linux Foundation
The impact of open source on network technology has penetrated into every aspect. As more and more products and solutions are emerging, countless open source projects have flourished, giving infinite vitality to the development of network technology. At this year’s GNTC, Phil Robb will introduce the experience and planning of Linux Foundation in open source and openness.

GNTC 2017 will set up 2 Plenary Sessions, 1 panel discussion, 8 technical summits (SDN, NFV, 5G, NB-IoT, network security, cloud and data center, edge network and edge computing, Internet Infrastructure) and a number of workshops (P4, CORD, ONAP, Network Test, etc.), covering all the hot spots of the new generation of network technologies, and all-round presenting the latest development of the industry and technology. By providing a platform for the parties to communicate and exchange, it is dedicated to promoting win-win cooperation and the process of network reconstruction. Please access the official website of the conference (www.theGNTC.com) or follow the official WeChat account “the GNTC” to register immediately.
