China Unicom will fully participate in GNTC 2017

“Global Network Technology Conference” (www.theGNTC.com), themed by “new technology·new architecture·new network”, will see a grand opening in the conference center of Beijing Great Wall Hotel during November 28-30, 2017. GNTC 2017 will set up 2 Plenary Sessions, 1 panel discussion, 8 technical summits (SDN, NFV, 5G, NB-IoT, network security, cloud and data center, edge network and edge computing, Internet Infrastructure) and a number of workshops (P4, CORD, ONAP, Network Test, etc.), covering all the hot spots of the new generation of network technologies, and all-round presenting the latest development of the industry and technology.

This year, China Unicom will fully participate in GNTC at Global Network Technology Trends Plenary Session, Cloud-Network Synergy Panel Discussion, Network Security, NFV, NB-IoT, Edge Computing, SDN and 5G Summit. In addition, China CORD Industry Alliance will also host CORD Workshop jointly with ONF under the leadership of China Unicom, with the aim of exploring the industry direction, exchanging technology hotspots, discussing development and seeking cooperation together with more than two thousand industry partners on site.

Tang Xiongyan, Chief Scientist, Network Technology Research Institute, China Unicom

Tang Xiongyan has accumulated rich theoretical and practical experience in broadband network, transmission network and access network and presided over multiple major communication engineering technology projects in Beijing. As a vanguard that promotes network transformation in China Unicom, Tang Xiongyan has recently promoted the implementation of network infrastructure upgrades, SDN controller, network cloudization and industrial Internet in China Unicom. At last year’s GNTC, Tang Xiongyan gave a systematic introduction of China Unicom’s understanding of network transformation. With regard to this year’s event, Tang Xiongyan will also attend the Plenary Session on November 30 and the Cloud Network Synergy Panel Discussion in the afternoon to share with the audience the specific progress of China Unicom’ network transformation and future focus, please stay tuned!

He Gang, Director of SDN/NFV Research Center, Network Technology Research Institute, China Unicom

He Gang successively served as Deputy Chief Engineer of the Research Department of China Unicom Research and Design Institute, Senior Export of the Network Technology Research Department of China Unicom Network Technology Research Institute and Director of SDN/NFV Innovation Center of China Unicom Network Technology Research Institute, mainly responsible for network architecture and planning, SDN/NFV standards and open source technologies, SDN/NFV solutions and SDN/NFV system development, etc. At this year’s GNTC Global Network Technology Conference, He Gang will attend the SDN Summit held in the afternoon of November 29.

Hu Yun, Director of IoT Research Center, Network Technology Research Institute, China Unicom

Network communication technology is designed mainly to achieve the two-way transfer of information of the Internet of Things and control information, and serves as one of the most important infrastructure of the Internet of Things, so major operators are paying close attention to relevant research and deployment. At last year’s GNTC, Hu Yun introduced China Unicom’s deployment in the Internet of Things and mentioned that China Unicom was verifying and vigorously developing NB-IoT and making experiments in several cities. Tong Junjie, NFV Solution Manager of China Unicom, OPNFV EUAG Founding Member

NFV is based on virtualization and cloudization, which can achieve rapid deployment and automatic operation and maintenance of the business. China Unicom is known as an active promoter and practitioner of NFV’s network architecture transformation. Tong Junjie will introduce the audience the superior and technical challenges that China Unicom faces in NFV at the GNTC as well as the future development plan of China Unicom in this field.

Liu Qi, Technologist of 5G Innovation Center, China Unicom

With the rise of 5G, major operators are vigorously making the overall arrangement, and China Unicom is also accelerating the commercialization process of 5G and will make experiments in national key cities. In the face of continuous evolution of the network, Liu Qi will deliver a speech on behalf of China Unicom at the 5G Summit in the afternoon of November 29 to share the achievements made by China Unicom in 5G and its future deployment plans.

Ma Zheng, Senior Engineer of Network Security Center, China Unicom Network Technology Research Institute

Ma Zheng is mainly engaged in network security system planning, existing network security solution research and development and network evolution security research, etc. The telecom operators assume the basic and key roles at the network level, and are maintain close contact with the network application services and terminal services. Therefore, the telecom operators play a crucial role in the field of network security. With the development of network technology and massive growth of data traffic, Ma Zheng will share his opinions in the network security forum in the afternoon of November 28 on how will China Unicom deal with such huge challenge and seize the opportunity to actively explore.

Chen Dan, MEC Project Manager, 5G Innovation Center, China Unicom Network Technology Research Institute

In June of this year, China Unicom released the White Paper on China Unicom’s Edge Computing Technology and mentioned that China Unicom will actively promote the standard research, platform development and implementation of commercial application of edge network and computing. Chen Dan is responsible for the technical research on 5G network architecture, edge computing, C/U separation and open platform of network capability, etc. At the GNTC Global Network Technology Conference, Dr. Chen Dan will share his ideas at the Edge Network and Edge Computing Summit in the morning of November 29.

China Unicom is the only member of the Board of Operators in China of the open source network project CORD, and worked with multiple partners to establish China CORD Industry Alliance at last year’s CNTC to continue promoting the development of CORD in China. At this year’s GNTC, Zhou Wei, principal of China CORD Industry Alliance and Professor-level Senior Engineer of China Unicom, will also host the CORD Workshop jointly with ONF in the afternoon of November 29, so welcome to participate in the Workshop.In addition to the above experts, more China Unicom’s experts will attend the GNTC Conference to share more topics.
