China Telecom takes a full part in the GNTC

As one of the three major carriers in China, China Telecom will take a full part in the GNTC. A number of China Telecom’s experts will attend the Main Conference, Panel Discussion, Internet Infrastructure Forum, SDN, NFV, Network Security, NB-IoT Summit and other links to share wonderful moments, and further share with the audience the latest progress and future planning blueprint of China Telecom in every aspect.

Here are some of the guest speakers of China Telecom:

Zhao Huiling, TC3 Chairman of CCSA, Director of China Telecom Cloud Computing Center
Last year, Director Zhao Huiling expressed at the GNTC that the future network shall have a global field of view and shall be visual, resources shall be on demand and can be automatically put into efficient operation. At present, it is difficult to allocate the network resources and the flexibility is not sufficient, equipment system is vertical and the scalability is not favorable, which is also not conductive to the rapid deployment of new business. In addition, the future network development shall adapt to the development of business and coordinate with the arrangement, the resources shall be on demand and shall be customized as needed, which are convenient and flexible and have security guarantee. This year, Director Zhao Huiling will share the trend of network transformation and the technical difficulties it faces.

Chen Yunqing, Deputy Director of China Telecom Beijing Research Institute
Since the publication of the White Paper on CTNet2025 Network Architecture of China Telecom in 2016, China Telecom has fully started the intelligent network transformation and actively introduced emerging technologies such as SDN, NFV and cloud to achieve network and IT integration and openness, providing users with visual, on-demand and self-service brand new network experience. At the Main Conference on the theme of “Global Network Transformation”, Deputy Director Chen Yunqing will further introduce the important achievements made by China Telecom in network transformation.

Yang Fengyi, VP of China Telecom Technology Innovation Center
As the evolution of mobile network to 5G further accelerates, edge computing can reduce the pressure of the core network and improve the capability of the access network, so as to provide more value in the popularization of high-traffic services, and has now become a key technology to drive the application and development of the Internet of Things. In addition, Yang Fengyi, VP of China Telecom Innovation Center, will introduce China Telecom’s strategic planning in this respect.

Wang Feng, Director of China Telecom Beijing Research Institute Cloud Computing Technology R & D Center
With the constant application of cloud computing, the cloud and network are breaking each other’s boundaries and merging with each other to become a new trend of ICT development, which is also the strategic planning for China Telecom. How to put cloud and network together for synergistic development? Dr. Wang Feng will discuss this hot topic with many technical experts at the “Cloud Network Synergy” Panel Discussion.

Xie Chongfeng, IPv6 Key Lab of Beijing Director, China Telecom Beijing Research Institute
China Telecom always stays focused on the research and deployment of next-generation Internet IPv6 and the construction of CNGI experimental network. In 2012, the large-scale commercial demonstration project of next-generation Internet was initiated, entering the commercial pilot phase; in 2014, it entered the large-scale commercial stage, and IPv6 was included in the regular planning and engineering construction; in the third quarter of the same year, IPv6 was introduced into the LTE network. As of 2016, China Telecom’s IPv6 has made good progress and accumulated rich experience at multiple network levels such as backbone network, MAN, IDC and mobile network and on the service side and user side. As we know, Dr. Xie Chongfeng has been engaged in IPv6 research for many years and once won the title of “IPv6 World Leader” presented by the IPv6 Forum, and he will share the latest research progress of China Telecom in IPv6 at the conference.

Tang Hongyu , Product Director of Network & Information Security Product Line, China Telecom Beijing Research Institute
As a carrier, China Telecom pays much attention to network security issues. Director Tang Hongyu has stayed focused on security product development and operations for many years, and China Telecom’s “Security Helper” founded and led by him has made remarkable achievements in information and Internet security. In addition, he will explain in detail China Telecom’s deployment in network security at the “Network Security” Summit.

Hu Jie, Director of IoT Technology Product Line, China telecom Beijing institute
In 2016, China Telecom targeted the business of Internet of Things as the group’s strategic basic business. In May this year, China Telecom announced the completion of the world’s first new generation of commercial Internet of Things (NB-IoT), covering a large area with large scale and stability. At the NB-IoT Summit, Director Hu Jie will further introduce this business.

Xiong Xiaoming, China Telecom Beijing Research Institute CORD Expert
SDN/NFV technology is a very important “link” for China Telecom’s network transformation. With regard to the deployment of SDN/NFV, China Telecom has proposed a series of goals at this stage: It hopes that the on-demand network capability can take initial shape in 2017, SDN can be widely deployed in cloud resource pool, traffic of MAN and backbone network can achieve intelligent scheduling, and the on-demand network can also achieve trial commercial use for small and medium-sized enterprises. However, CORD is also a work focus of China Telecom in recent days as an important direction for the operator’s network transformation. At present, the industry research is an initial phase only, and the specific operation schemes that are deeply integrated with the existing network resources and network conditions in particular are still relatively scarce. To practically advance the implementation, it requires not only the analysis at the conceptual level, but giving the CORD specification combined with specific and quantifiable business scenarios and clear business definitions, so that it can guide the actual deployment of large-scale applications. At the SDN Summit, expert Xiong Xiaoming will introduce in detail the recent important research results and work plans of China Telecom in CORD regarding this topic.

In addition to the above experts, more China Telecom’s experts will attend the GNTC to share more topics. Not only that, more distinguished experts from China Unicom, China Mobile, Telefonica, TURK TELEKOM and other global carriers, as well as authoritative organizations, well-known Internet companies, user units, equipment and solution providers will attend the GNTC, and experts of the whole industry chain will gather together to participate in the new generation of network technology feast. For more information about the conference’s distinguished guests and the up-to-date schedule, please visit the official website www.theGNTC.com or follow the official WeChat about “theGNTC” to immediately register for the conference.
